Beta #2

I have more good news to report.  My beta this morning was 4,320 which is a doubling time of about 45 hours, which the nurse said is perfect, especially since the number is so high.  I still can't believe how high these numbers are...it's giving me so much hope.  Everyone at the doctor's office was very nice and congratulatory today which was awesome and then when the IVF nurse called to tell me the results she sounded kinda giddy on the phone.  It was great.

The next step is to wait 2 weeks before my first ultrasound.  I think I'm going to schedule it for Monday February 27th or Wednesday February 29th which will put me at 6w5d or 7w.  It's going to be another long 2WW, but I am so filled with hope right now and I'm going to try really hard to just take it one day at a time.

Mostly, I just like thinking..."I'm pregnant!"  I'm so happy!!

I hope you all had a great weekend!!

  5. Congratulations!!!! I just came across your blog from ICLW and also took my second beta today! (This is my third cycle, and each cycle has resulted in pregnancy and with pretty fabulous doubling rates, so I can definitely attest to your numbers being great!) With my first son (who passed away the day after he was born), my doubling rates were about 35 hours. With my second son, they were 38. Each time they thought it was twins. We transferred two beautiful 8 cellers on day 3 for both cycles, and yet...only one each time, with no evidence that the other sweet little one had implanted. This time (don't ask why...apparently one's fertility CAN get better with age!) I had two top grade 5day blasts to transfer and my doubling rate is 25 hours! Of course, there's no way to know...some people walk in with high numbers (like me!) and are just singletons and overachievers in the HCG making arena! Others walk in with lower numbers, and still...triplets! It's really that big ultrasound that gives the real answer...but still, one or two, those are great numbers and I'm sure you are like me and breathing a big sigh of relief...while waiting on the edge of your seat for the ultrasound! Ours is Feb. 24. We have two more betas this week for doubling rates, but really...the 24th is what I'm looking for!!!
Again, congratulations...I'm sorry for your previous loss. I know it is something that changes you forever.
